Hello my name is Stuart Seager and I own and run Champagne Flights, dedicated to exclusive balloon flights for those looking for a very personal experience. With a genuine passion for ballooning and over 30 years experience all over the world, from the snows of Arctic Russia to the jungles of Sri Lanka, and after piloting some of the UK’s furthest, highest and fastest balloon flights ever recorded, passenger safety is always my priority and I am proud to have been a Civil Aviation Authority Certificated operator since 1990.
My aviation career began in 1977 when I became the youthful holder of a UK fixed wing Private Pilots Licence (PPL).
At Champagne Flights, we pride ourselves on our relaxed and friendly approach to flying, developed with help from the CAA over the last 28 years. We operate balloons, with a maximum capacity of 4 passengers, ensuring that the pilot and ground crew are able to give full attention to customers, before, during and after the flight.
On the day having previously confirmed with us that the weather is suitable for your flight, we usually allow 3-4 hours for the whole event, beginning with your arrival on site. You will be greeted at the launch site by the pilot and ground crew, who will give a thorough safety briefing and answer any questions you may have. We find most of our passengers are keen to help with the inflation of the balloon. This is part of your ballooning experience, and we encourage supervised hands-on participation.
With everyone aboard, and all safety checks completed, the adventure begins. Flights last around 1 hour, and your pilot will do his best to make your flight entertaining and informative. You are welcome to bring your camera or video recorder to record this remarkable experience.
During your flight you can celebrate together with a glass of chilled champagne, and we will answer all the ballooning questions you can think of! After landing when the balloon and equipment has been packed away safely you will be driven back to the launch site, where you have parked your car.
Weather Conditions - whether we fly or not !
Light stable airflow of 8 mph or less, dry, with safe visibility - these are the conditions we look for to give you a safe and enjoyable flight. During the flying season we are constantly monitoring a number of weather forecasting services, looking for good flying slots. Should the weather be against us, we will reschedule your flight for the next mutually convenient date.
