Our named flight vouchers are valid for 12 months, and arrive with a detailed information pack, in a presentation folder for you to give on the special day. There is no need to book the flight date when ordering your vouchers.

Champagne Flights

Champagne Flights offers you a magical experience in one of its stylish balloons, designed, built and operated to rigorous safety standards. A Civil Aviation Authority Certificated operator since 1990, Champagne Flights employs only professionally licensed pilots, with many years of flying experience both at home and abroad (see the adventure page). At Champagne Flights, we pride ourselves on our relaxed and friendly approach to flying, developed with help from the CAA over 20 years. We operate balloons, with a maximum capacity of 5 or 8 passengers, ensuring that the pilot and ground crew are able to give full attention to customers, before, during and after the flight.

Your Flight

On the , day having previously called our weather line to confirm that the weather is suitable for your flight, we usually allow 3-4 hours for the whole event, beginning with your arrival on site. You will be greeted at the lakeside location (see map) by the pilot and ground crew, who will give a thorough safety briefing and answer any questions you may have. We find most of our passengers are keen to help with the inflation of the balloon. This is great fun, and we encourage supervised hands-on participation.

With everyone aboard, and all safety checks completed, the adventure begins. Flights last around 1 hour, and your pilot will do his best to make your flight entertaining and informative. You are welcome to bring your camera or video recorder to record this remarkable experience. See the "morning in the life" page, to read all about a typical morning flight.

After your flight we celebrate together with a glass or two of chilled champagne, and pilot and crew will answer all the ballooning questions you can think of! When all are ready, you will be driven back to the launch site, where you have parked your car.

Weather Conditions - whether we fly or whether we don't !

Light stable airflow of 10mph or less, dry, with safe visibility - these are the conditions we look for to give you a safe and enjoyable flight. During the flying season we are constantly monitoring a number of weather forecasting services, looking for good flying slots. Should the weather be against us, we will reschedule your flight for the next mutually convenient date.

I just wanted to thank you again for the flight last weekend. I am still thinking about it, which is a good measure of what it meant to me.
